Waxed Acrylic Sgraffito on Wood

Tabby Booth is a British artist, illustrator, and curator based in Cornwall. Known for her distinctive silhouette style, her work occupies a space between contemporary illustration and traditional folk art painting, woven with recurring themes of folklore, beasts, mythology, and the sea. Drawing on coastal histories and storytelling traditions, Booth creates richly symbolic works that balance playfulness with a darker, dreamlike atmosphere.

Alongside her fine art practice, Booth has collaborated with leading international brands across fashion, interiors, and design, applying her recognisable visual language to textiles, wallpaper, objects, and apparel. Her work moves fluidly between decorative arts and contemporary painting, maintaining a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, narrative, and ornamentation.

Booth is also the co-founder of Sailor’s Jail Gallery, and her original works are exhibited and collected internationally.

She studied BA Graphic Design & Illustration at Central Saint Martins, London (2009–2012), following a Foundation Degree at Chelsea Art College, London (2008–2009).
