About AOAP Projects

AOAP Projects is an independent arts organisation producing contemporary art exhibitions, sales, auctions and editions, in partnership with charities, artists and cultural institutions. Founded in 2014 as Art on a Postcard, the organisation has raised more than £2 million for charitable causes and became AOAP Projects in early 2026.

We sit between the commercial art world and the charity sector. Every project supports a charitable cause, provides exposure for artists at all career stages, and creates an accessible entry point for collecting contemporary art. Original artworks start from £55, and helping people buy their first piece of original art remains one of our proudest achievements.

What we do

Exhibtions

In 2026 we launched Illuminated, an annual summer exhibition with the Royal Society of Arts at RSA House, London. It is a curated sales exhibition, not an auction, bringing together established and emerging artists, with original works no larger than 7 x 7 inches, sold first come, first served. Artists receive 50% of proceeds.

Auctions

Auctions remain at the heart of what we do. Our charity auctions continue under AOAP Projects, featuring international artists and carefully chosen charitable partners, the format that defined Art on a Postcard for more than a decade.

Charity collaborations

Recent projects include our International Women's Day exhibition with The Hepatitis C Trust at The Bomb Factory, Holborn, and War Child Presents Sound & Vision in which contemporary artists respond to music and lyrics..

Across the year, audiences can also expect subscriber-only sales, exclusive print releases, curatorial collaborations and private views.

Our History 

Art on a Postcard began in 2014 as a one-off secret postcard auction. It grew into one of the UK's most recognisable charitable art auctions and helped establish the postcard auction as a fundraising format used by charities across the country. In early 2026, Art on a Postcard became AOAP Projects, allowing us to work beyond the postcard format while continuing the fundraising, artist support and accessibility that defined the organisation from the start.
