Rebecca Brodskis (b. 1988, France) lives and works in Paris. Her practice explores intimacy, psychological tension, and human connection through figurative painting. Often focusing on solitary figures or closely cropped interactions, Brodskis creates emotionally charged compositions that balance vulnerability with restraint. Her paintings frequently inhabit quiet, suspended moments in which gesture, gaze, and body language become central carriers of meaning.

Drawing on both sociological inquiry and painterly sensitivity, her work examines the complexities of identity, emotional dependency, and interpersonal dynamics. Muted palettes, flattened spaces, and carefully choreographed compositions contribute to a sense of stillness and introspection, while subtle shifts in posture and expression suggest narratives that remain unresolved.

Brodskis studied Sociology at the Université de Caen Basse Normandie (MA, 2013–2015) and the Université de Strasbourg (BA, 2010–2013), following a BA in Art at Central Saint Martins, London (2007–2010), and studies at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris (2006–2007).

Recent solo exhibitions include Together Separated at Fabienne Lévy Gallery, Geneva and Lausanne (2025); Echoes of Now at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, West Palm Beach (2025); Rebecca Brodskis: Un Geste – A Gesture – Un Gesto at the San Luis Potosí Center for the Arts, Mexico (2025); a solo exhibition at Septième Gallery, Cotonou, Benin (2025); Dilemma: Rebecca Brodskis and Friends at Bastille Design Center, Paris (2024); Let’s Talk About You and Me at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, London (2022); The Passengers at Koenig Zwei Gallery, Vienna (2022); Effet Miroir at Septième Gallery, Paris (2021); La danse de l’absurde at Galleria Anna Marra, Rome (2021); Arrêt sur image at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, London (2021); Fragments of Light at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, Berlin (2020); and Tomorrow is Another Day at Steve Turner Gallery, Los Angeles (2020).
