Marie Lenclos is an oil painter whose practice is deeply inspired by the city of London, where she lives and works. Finding beauty within everyday urban environments, she focuses on fleeting moments of light, atmosphere, and colour, transforming familiar streets and interiors into quietly luminous paintings. Her work captures the rhythm and emotional texture of city life through a sensitive attention to tone, composition, and changing light conditions.

Lenclos completed an MA in Communication Art and Design at the Royal College of Art, London (1999–2001), following a First Class BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Art, London (1995–1998).

Recent exhibitions include Pause at Art Friend Gallery, Columbia Road, London (solo, 2025); Brixton Paintings at Studio 73 Gallery, Brixton, London (solo, 2025); the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries, London (2023–2025); the ING Discerning Art Prize Exhibition at Mall Galleries, London (2025); the Bath Open Art Prize Exhibition at 44AD Space, Bath (2025); the Guildford House Open Exhibition, Guildford (2025); Still Light at Town House, Spitalfields, London (solo, 2024); the Green & Stone Open Exhibition, Chelsea, London (2024); Three at Tom Cox Gallery, Crystal Palace, London (2024); Intérieur / Extérieur with Aldo de Silvestri at Copper Beech Cafe, Dulwich, London (2024); a solo exhibition at Everyday Sunshine Gallery, Stoke Newington, London (2023); the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, London (2023); M2 at Tom Cox Gallery, Crystal Palace, London (2023); and A Sense of Place with David Phillips at Copper Beech Cafe, Dulwich, London (2023).

In 2024, Lenclos received the Dry Red Press Award at the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition. Her work is held in numerous private collections.
