Geoffrey Harrison is a British figurative artist known for his realist approach to painting and his contemporary reinterpretation of traditional still life. Originally from Manchester, Harrison studied Printmaking at the School of Art in Hull before spending several years living and studying in Japan. He later returned to the UK to complete a Master’s degree at SOAS University of London. Now based in the West Country, he works as a full-time painter alongside teaching art and drawing.

Harrison’s work approaches still life through a critical contemporary lens, using carefully observed compositions to explore themes of perception, symbolism, and material culture. Alongside still life, portraiture forms a significant part of his practice. He is a member of the Contemporary British Portrait Painters collective (CBPP) and has exhibited with institutions including the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the New English Art Club, and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

Portrait sitters have included broadcaster Samira Ahmed, Olympian Katherine Grainger, and actor Matthew Goode. Harrison was also a semi-finalist on Portrait Artist of the Year on Sky Arts and appeared as a guest artist on Portrait Artist of the Week.

His work has been exhibited at the Discerning Eye, The British Art Prize, and Shoreditch Modern. Alongside numerous private commissions, his work is held in collections including Soho House and the University of London. Harrison has also undertaken residencies, including Artist in Residence at Barts Pathology Museum and a Leverhulme residency at the Royal Veterinary College.
