Emma Coyle is an Irish contemporary painter whose work reimagines the visual language of Pop Art through bold colour, scale and the appropriation of advertising imagery. Working from carefully selected print media sources, she begins with an extensive drawing process before translating the images into large-scale paintings that emphasise line, colour and visual impact. Her work reflects both contemporary culture and historical art movements, exploring the enduring power of imagery within modern life.

Coyle’s paintings embrace the immediacy and seduction of commercial aesthetics while simultaneously interrogating them. Through her vivid compositions and stylised surfaces, she contemporises Pop Art traditions, creating works that feel both nostalgic and sharply current.

She studied Fine Art at the National College of Art and Design between 1999 and 2003.

Recent solo exhibitions include Emma Coyle in The Hamptons at Patricia Kamoun Gallery in association with Helwaser Gallery (2024), Beyond the Line: the New Pop Art of Emma Coyle with Arte Globale (2024), Untitled at Wapp Art Gallery (2023), and The Best Revenge at Helwaser Gallery (2022).

Her recent group exhibitions and projects include presentations in New York City, Miami, Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai and Adelaide, including exhibitions with Barry Campbell Gallery, Arte Globale and participation in Aqua Art Miami and LA Art Show.

Her work has received numerous international awards and distinctions, including the Phoenix International Prize from the Effetto Arte Foundation (2024), Artist of the Year 2019 from the Circle Foundation for the Arts, and the Gold List Award from the International Art Market Magazine (2019). Her work is also held in the Haegeumgang Theme Museum collection.
