About The Artist

Bianca MacCall is a painter living and working in Bristol. Working primarily in oil paint, she creates quietly observational works that capture fleeting moments of everyday life with warmth, humour and familiarity. Her paintings evoke scenes that might otherwise go unnoticed — fragments of ordinary experience encountered in passing — celebrating the understated poetry and subtle absurdities embedded within daily routines.

MacCall completed a BA in Illustration at Arts University Bournemouth (2012–2015).

Recent exhibitions include The Summer Exhibition at Victoria Art Gallery (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025); Stage II at Bay Art Cardiff (2025); Works on Paper at Blue Shop Gallery (2025); Love Letter to England at Moosey (solo, 2024); and A Closer Look at Soho Revue (solo, 2023). Other selected exhibitions include shows at Fitzrovia Gallery, Hastings Contemporary, Royal West of England Academy and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.

MacCall has received several awards, including the Alan Cassé Print Award from the Bath Society of Artists (2019), the Harry Walker Young Artist’s Prize from the Bath Society of Artists (2017), and the Ironstone Art Prize Under 25 Winner, awarded by the Banbury Museum Trust (2016).
