Working across wall, floor, and plinth-based formats, she paints on a variety of substrates including wood, MDF, concrete, and metal, reflecting her ongoing interest in the built environment and the relationship between design, spatiality, and perception.

Geometry and perspective are central to Heaton’s practice. Through repetition, symmetry, and the rhythm of line, her works create movement and spatial tension, often blurring distinctions between painting, object, and installation. Her use of materials associated with construction and interiors reinforces the physical presence of the work while drawing attention to the ways environments shape memory, behaviour, and emotional experience.

Heaton completed an MFA in Fine Art with distinction at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation and the University of Sussex (2020–2022), following a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the same institutions (2019–2020).
