Rather than depicting the natural world as a purely external space, his work approaches it as a field of perception — a place where looking, naming, preserving and mythologising converge. Through painting, the cultivated landscape becomes both subject and metaphor, revealing how systems of representation shape not only how we see the world, but how we understand and experience it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBalancing observation with abstraction, Black’s work considers landscape as something framed, edited and suspended between permanence and change.
