Her work explores the essential qualities of form, colour and rhythm, using geometry as a means of stripping away excess and focusing on clarity and sensation. While non-figurative, her paintings remain closely connected to lived experience, drawing subtle associations with landscape, skyscape, architecture, nature and the environment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eColour is central to Robertson’s practice and functions as an emotional and sensory language within the work. Much like music, it becomes a direct conduit for mood, atmosphere and feeling. Recent collaborative exhibitions with Trevor Sutton include \u003cem\u003eCIRCUS\u003c\/em\u003e at The Revelator (2024), \u003cem\u003eHeaven Earth and Human Beings\u003c\/em\u003e at Grey Gallery (2024), and \u003cem\u003eTEN\u003c\/em\u003e at Zembla Gallery (2025).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer work has been widely exhibited in international group exhibitions, including multiple presentations at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025), as well as exhibitions in Germany, Sweden, Ireland, France and the Netherlands.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRobertson has received numerous awards and fellowships throughout her career, including the \u003cem\u003eSinger \u0026amp; Friedlander \/ Sunday Times Watercolour Competition\u003c\/em\u003e First Prize (2005), Third Prize (2003), the \u003cem\u003eBoise Scholarship to Italy\u003c\/em\u003e (1981–82), the \u003cem\u003eEdwin Austin Abbey Memorial Award\u003c\/em\u003e at the British School at Rome (1993), and the \u003cem\u003eEvolver Prize\u003c\/em\u003e at the Royal West of England Academy Autumn Exhibition (2022).
